n the Rostov region, a drilling team led by Maxim G. Garaev, the construction of the main line of the reserve water supply source of one of the Southern regions was completed using the HDD method through a water barrier. The weight of the drill string being laid was 896 tons with a pipeline 1120 m long and 1420 mm in diameter.
Constrained conditions, unstable geology created additional difficulties, but were successfully resolved.
Land configuration where welding and bottom pipe lining on roller bearings were made created additional complexity. The difference in natural ground marks on the working site was 52 meters. A large amount of excavation work was carried out to level the terrain of the site to form an acceptable trajectory.
Currently, preparations are underway for construction of a reserve pipeline with similar technical characteristics.
