Sakhalin-Khabarovsk-Vladivostok

Superlong crossing. Construction was carried out by the method of end-to-end oncoming boreholes by two drill rigs standing on opposite banks of the obstacle (the island Russky – the Nazimov's cape).

In the course of construction the modern navigation system ParaTrack 2 was applied that allows the boreholes to "see" each other, and provide high precision of integration.

The durability (hardness) of the overcomable soil has reached 174 mPa that was compatible with the hardness of metal. The diamond (PDC) drill bits produced by the Australian company TRANSCO MFG AUSTRALIA PTY.LTD were applied for the drilling.

Successful construction of trenchless crossing with such combination of length and soils is unique for today in the world practice of the horizontal directional drilling.
